Frequently asked questions
What buyers ask before they place an order — certification, inspection, packing and what we need in order to quote.
The questions we are asked most often, answered plainly. If yours is not here, send it with your enquiry and we will answer it in the first reply.
Who are Loka International?
An Egyptian exporter of fresh and IQF frozen produce, trading since 1996 and registered as Loka International for Import & Export under Commercial Register 228522, based in Sadat City, Menofia. The company also holds a licensed fertilizer and pesticide blending and packing plant, and distributes the Green Magic range of agricultural inputs.
What do you supply?
Three lines. Fresh produce — citrus, grapes, onion, potato, strawberry and vegetables. IQF frozen fruit and vegetables. And agricultural inputs: fertilizers, foliar nutrition and crop protection from the Green Magic range, which Loka distributes rather than manufactures.
What certifications do you hold?
Four ISO certificates, all EGAC-accredited and IAF-recognised: ISO 9001:2015 quality management, ISO 14001:2015 environmental management, and two ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety certificates. Their certified scope is the blending and packaging of fertilizers, pesticides, seeds and seedlings at Loka's own facility.
Do those certificates cover the produce?
No, and we will not imply otherwise. The ISO certificates cover the agri-inputs operation only. They do not extend to fresh or frozen produce, nor to the manufacture of products Loka distributes for other companies. We do not currently hold Global GAP, HACCP, ISO 22000 or BRC. If your market requires one of those, tell us before you plan the shipment.
Can we inspect the goods before loading?
Yes. SGS, Bureau Veritas or your own agent are welcome at loading, at your cost. Nothing about the process depends on you taking our word for the grade.
Will you send samples first?
Yes. Samples go out before any commitment, so the grade, calibre and pack are agreed against something you have handled rather than a photograph.
How is quality recorded?
Brix and grading are recorded per lot, produce is traceable back to the farm it came from, and the cold chain is unbroken from packhouse to container.
Can you pack to our own specification?
Yes. Carton, plastic crate, mesh bag or one-tonne wooden bin, graded to the calibre you specify. We also pack into your own carton and label on request.
What temperature is the frozen range held at?
Minus 18 degrees Celsius, held unbroken through storage and loading.
Do you supply the Egyptian domestic market as well as export?
Yes. Both divisions serve local customers and export buyers from the same facility in Sadat City.
What do you need in order to quote?
Five things make an enquiry answerable on the first reply: the product and variety, the volume and how often you need it, the packing format, the destination port and the incoterm you want quoted, and the shipping window. Send those and we reply within one working day with availability, a price for your window and a sample offer.
What are your incoterms, payment terms and minimum order?
Incoterms, payment terms, lead times, minimum order quantities and HS codes are quoted per enquiry rather than published, because they depend on the product, the volume and the destination market. Ask for them with your enquiry.
